you deny me

You deny me the love I need.

Maternal. Unconditional.

Were my tiny hands too troublesome? My mouth too honest?

You deny me the verity I need.

Genuine. Sincere.

Was my innocent frame not deserving? Was I not more important than your reputation?

You deny me the validation I need.

Tender. Attentive.

Were my thoughts too dark? My heart too mangled to comfort and protect?

You deny me.
